What is "Kids Connection"? That's our collective name for all of our children's ministries, from nursery up through grade school. We want kids to learn about God in an environment where they can feel safe, have fun, and be connected to adults and other kids who know and love Jesus Christ.
Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) is a club for kids from age 2 up through 6th grade. Our Awana clubs meet most Wednesdays from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM during the school year. Below you will find basic information about each age group:
Awana Puggles is an enriching program for your pre-Cubbies kids (usually older 2- and younger 3-year-olds) that presents basic biblical concepts. The Puggles curriculum teaches toddlers simple lessons through teaching cards, activities, music and more.
Our Cubbies Club is for children ages 3-4. Because they are too young to read, parents' participation at home is important to help instill God's Word into their hearts.
Our Sparks Club is for children from kindergarten through 2nd grade. Games and lessons are geared to their age level.
Our Truth & Training Clubs (boys and girls clubs) are for 3rd through 6th grades. Bible knowledge is the foundation of T&T, as these youngsters prepare for the difficult teen years.
Vacation Bible School
We do a Vacation Bible School each summer for one week in June or July. Many churches in our area have VBS, but we try to make sure that we are offering a unique theme that no one else is. Games, skits, snacks, crafts, and other fun activities await all kids from three years old up through 6th grade, and most years, we have a class for teens, as well. Youth Camp
Each summer we take our children and teens to Camp Jackson, between Barnwell and Allendale, SC. Camp is for kids entering third grade up through graduated high school seniors. Team competition, fun games, and challenging preaching highlight this week, normally the second full week in July.
In addition to these ministries, we have graded Sunday school classes each Sunday morning at 10:00 AM, and then during the 11:00 AM service, we have a nursery for children up to age three, Children's Church for those up to grade school age, and Junior Church for school aged children up through fifth grade.
We take our children's ministries very seriously at Lumpkin Road. All of our children's workers have been screened, and we have a comprehensive child protection program in place to ensure that your child will be loved and cared for in the proper way.
